ORUs are a major mechanism for fostering and enhancing the research enterprise at UCI. They take advantage of the strength and breadth of university faculty addressing a particular research area, and through multidisciplinary approaches they enhance research beyond what is conducted in existing departments and schools. They also can advance fundamental discoveries towards applications beyond academia, with applications in health, materials science, and information technology to name a few. A successful ORU should elevate the entire university and showcase UCI’s excellence and prominence in its area of research.
ROR EVENT VISIT action This protocol is used by the Clinical Case Registries package to maintain references to patients who have new data in the V-files (VISIT, V POV, etc). The protocol should be subscribed to the PXK VISIT DATA EVENT protocol (this is done by the KIDS during the installation). If at least one of the defined registries enables event protocols, this protocol will process the Lab events and create references in the ROR PATIENT EVENTS file (#798.3). Otherwise, the protocol will be executed (if it is not disabled or unsubscribed manually) but will not call the processing routine (VISIT^ROREVT01). D:$D(^ROR(798.1,"AEP"))>1 VISIT^ROREVT01
A description of the proposed ORU (no more than 2 pages of narrative). ORUs are meant to foster interdisciplinary research that might not flourish in the conventional single school environment. Therefore, the narrative should provide a compelling rationale for this and address the key criteria of Research Focus, Significance, Investigators and Value Added (see Criteria for ORUs section of this document for additional information).
PSB BCBU ORM RECV subscriber This is an HL7 subscriber protocol for routing messages to BCMA BACKUP workstations. It is configured as a "router" so there will not be a logical link defined. The Routing Logic field is simply a Mumps 'Quit' since the HLL("LINKS") array is set up by the sending application before the call to HL7. Messages are routed to logical links based on their association with Medical Center Divisions (40.8) in the Parameter File.
The self-proclaimed “front page of the internet” is a social news aggregate and discussion forum that’s been around since 2005. Registered users (redditors) submit content in a variety of subjects—news, science, music, books, video games, etc.—and other redditors vote the content up or down. Submissions with more upvotes remain nearer to the top of their subject board, or subreddit, while those with enough up votes hit the site’s front page.
On January 31, 2013, ORU announced that William "Billy" Wilson, executive director of the International Center for Spiritual Renewal and vice-chair of the ORU board of trustees, had been selected to succeed Rutland as president, effective on July 1, 2013. A day earlier, the ORU student newspaper had briefly posted an erroneous report on its website, mistakenly identifying a different person as the new president. Rutland criticized the report at a student assembly and the newspaper's longtime faculty adviser left the school the next day.
PSJ LM 24H MAR action This allows the user to print a selected patient's medication orders on a Medication Administration Record (MAR) for the charting of the administration of the orders over a 24 hour period. It is designed to replace the manual Continuing Medication Record (CMR). This protocol assumes that a patient has already been selected. N VAIN,VADM D FULL^VALM1,ENLM^PSGMAR S VALMBCK="R"
An Advisory Committee may be appointed for each ORU. The Director of the ORU will have the opportunity to recommend potential members for the Advisory Committee. Candidates should be recognized leaders in the research field of the ORU and should come from both inside and outside the University of California system. Faculty who are members of the ORU cannot serve on the Advisory Committee.
So far, Steemit claims over 900K user accounts and over USD$40,000,000 of payments to contributors – incredibly innovative, considering Facebook uses all our content that we give for free, in order for them to make a profit. It’s free to create one account and post content, but if you want to create multiple accounts (which theoretically would allow you to post and vote on more content), you’re charged a fee. You must provide an email address and phone number to join, thus allowing admin to verify that each user has signed up for only one free account. Anonymity isn’t discouraged, but if you claim to be someone specific, you must give evidence that you are that person.
Path is a good Facebook alternative for users who care less about a large community and instead place far more value on having a selective friendship group to keep in contact with. At first, the number of friends per profile on the platform was actually limited to 150 contacts (though this has since been lifted). The app is available for iOS and Android.
The ORU Market does not offer or promise to a buyer any kind of price reduction, rebate, commission, credit or other consideration. ORU Market offers its members a variety of software tools, both free and on SaaS basis. ORU Members can offer products, services to members on the ORU Marketplace. ORU Market does not pay or receive a commission on sales made by ORU Members to other members in the network.
External companies are also looking at reining in the data that Facebook has access to. Mozilla, which makes the Firefox web browser, has just launched a Facebook Container Extension (a downloadable plug-in) that prevents Facebook from tracking you across other websites. Other plug-ins, such as Ghostery for Google’s Chrome browser (also available for other browsers) and Facebook Disconnect 2016, offer their own tracker-blocking features.
In February 1997, on the 28th day of Ramadan, several students from Oral Roberts University reportedly disrupted services at a mosque in the city of Tulsa near the University of Tulsa. The students mistakenly thought it was the 27th night of Ramadan, which is the holiest night of the Muslim calendar. Mujeeb Cheema, the chairman of the Islamic Society of Tulsa at that time, told The New York Times that "Some 20 Oral Roberts students put their hands on the exterior doors and walls of the mosque and prayed for the conversion of the Muslims." The students left after police had been summoned to the scene.
The best replacement is a password manager, which can store your credentials for every site you use in one place. It can also generate a new, secure password every time you sign up for a new website or service. Here's an in-depth guide to choosing the best password manager for you and why you should be using one. Our two favorite picks are 1Password and LastPass.
What if the connections you forge online could bring you closer to your actual neighbors? Nextdoor, now active in around 169,000 neighborhoods in the U.S., connects you with the people who live nearby. These links may not blossom in to friendships, but they still come in handy if you want to buy or sell used furniture, throw a street party, or take care of local issues like potholes.
The result is that Stellar has locked in some intriguing partnerships. Right now, its Lumens coin is being used on an IBM blockchain project at a dozen major banks in the South Pacific to expedite payment settlement and validation. Prior to this partnership being announced, Stellar and India’s ICICI Bank worked together to create blockchain solutions to increase transaction processing speeds in India. Considering just how much of India’s population is underbanked, blockchain could play a particularly game-changing role in emerging market economies like this.
ORU's early sports team nicknames were the Titans for men and the Lady Titans for women, adopted in 1965 by a vote of the student body. On April 30, 1993, all teams for both men and women became known as the Golden Eagles. ORU's current mascot is "Eli" the golden eagle, who hatched out of his papier-mâché egg on November 17, 1993 before the start of an exhibition basketball game as the official symbol of a new era in ORU athletics. The mascot's name is an acronym for education, lifeskills and integrity.
For those who care about having a smaller, more selective friendship group, check out Path. Birthed in 2010, Path wants to use technology and design to bring you “happiness, meaning, and connection.” While the initial friendship group limitation of 50 has since been lifted, Path continues to emphasize a small, “Inner Circle”–type community of your closest friends, in order to return a sense of intimacy to social networking.
Users can also branch out to nearby neighbourhoods and create public and private sub-groups. It is used to primarily enforce neighbourhood rules and guidelines, as well as help others. While it isn’t exactly an alternative social networking site to Facebook, it connects people in real-life communities. It may be the right choice if privacy is a big concern.
ORUs have contributed substantially to UC Berkeley’s outstanding research reputation. In order to maintain an exceptional ORU portfolio at UC Berkeley, it is important to periodically assess the performance of existing ORUs, at least every 10 years. The review process provides ORUs with a mechanism for in-depth, peer-reviewed evaluation of programs and goals, and provides the administration with a means of ensuring that research being conducted is of the highest quality and justifies the space and support received from the University.
Following Mart Green's contribution, the university's debt was reduced to $25 million. In February 2008, the Renewing the Vision campaign was initiated in an effort to erase this debt. To free the university from its burgeoning debt, the Board of Trustees announced plans for a $25 million matching campaign, in which the Board agreed that it would match dollar-for-dollar all that was donated to the university as part of the Renewing the Vision campaign, up to a maximum of $25 million. ORU Interim President Ralph Fagin stated, "The goal is in one year to get the debt down. It is a pretty audacious goal. It is a faith goal." In addition to eliminating the debt, funds from the Renewing the Vision campaign contributed to the 2008 summer campus renovations as well as scholarships provided by the university. As of June 3, 2009, donations and pledges had reduced the university's original $50 million debt to $720,000.
On January 14, 2008, Oral Roberts University’s board of regents voted unanimously to accept $62 million from the Mart Green family, founders of Hobby Lobby and Mardel educational and Christian supply stores. In late October, an ORU spokesman had said ORU was $52.5 million in debt and the school accepted an unconditional $8 million from the Greens in late November. ORU’s board of regents has been replaced with a 23-member board of trustees all initially named by the Greens, with Mart Green as chairman. Although Green said in November, two family members would sit on the board, he will reportedly be the only one. Green said he wanted to be involved in ORU because his family “felt like financial stewardship needed to be shored up.”
